Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the BestCard app for iPhone. BestCard is made by Stefano Anania ("we", "us"), an independent developer.
BestCard is built so that we don't receive information about you. There are no accounts, the app doesn't talk to any server of ours, and it contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software.
What we collect
Through the app, nothing. We don't collect, receive or store personal information from BestCard, and we have no way to identify you or to see how you use it.
There are two things we can receive outside the app:
- Messages you send us. If you contact us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to answer you, and we delete it if you ask.
- Apple's reports. Apple gives every developer totals such as how many times an app was downloaded. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple also passes on crash and usage reports. These come from Apple, not from code in the app, and they don't tell us who you are.
Our website and support form
BestCard's website, where this policy and the support form live, is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising.
If you send the support form, Netlify stores what you enter, checks it for spam with an automated filter, and passes it to us.
What stays on your device
- Your cards. You pick the cards you carry from a list. BestCard stores which cards you picked and, for cards with a bonus category you choose, which category. It never asks for card numbers, bank logins or account details, and has no way to see your balances or transactions.
- Your trip. Airports and countries you add to the Travel tab.
- Reminders. If you turn on a reminder for a credit, it is scheduled as a notification on your device. Reminders are created by your iPhone, not sent from a server.
- Your settings. For example, that you finished setup and agreed to the terms.
The BestCard widget and share extension read the same information on your device.
iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud, the list of cards you picked, your bonus-category choices and your trip stops are saved to your own iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. That copy is held by Apple under your Apple Account. We can't see or access it. If you aren't signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for BestCard in Settings, this information stays on the one device.
Location
If you allow it, BestCard uses your location while you're using the app (or asking Siri about it) to work out which store, airport or country you're in. Your location is used on your device and sent to Apple Maps to look up the places around you, the same way the Maps app does. We never receive it, and the app doesn't keep a history of where you've been. You can turn location off for BestCard in Settings at any time; search and the category shortcuts keep working without it.
When you move the map, the app asks Apple Maps about the area you're looking at. When you look up lounges at an airport, the app may ask Apple Maps about that airport. Those requests contain the position of the area or the airport, not yours.
Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy.
Siri and Apple Intelligence
When you ask Siri about BestCard, Apple processes the request under its own privacy policy and the app answers from the data on your device.
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, what you type into "Ask BestCard" and the explanation of an answer are processed by Apple's models, on your device or through Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Apple states that Private Cloud Compute doesn't store this data or make it available to Apple. We don't receive it.
Share extension
When you share a web page or link to BestCard, the app reads the website's address on your device to match it to a store. Nothing is sent anywhere.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking code.
- We don't build a profile of you or your spending.
Because the app doesn't track you, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.
Links
BestCard links to card issuers' and travel providers' own pages. When you open one, that site's privacy policy applies.
How your information is protected
What BestCard stores is kept in the app's own storage on your iPhone, protected by your device's passcode and encryption, and, if you use iCloud, by Apple's security for your Apple Account.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, the law may give you the right to know what personal information a business holds about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we hold none from the app, you control it yourself:
- Deleting the app removes what it stored on your device.
- To remove the copy in iCloud, go to Settings, your name, iCloud, Storage, then BestCard, and delete its data.
- If you've written to us, ask and we'll delete the correspondence.
We won't treat you differently for making any of these choices.
Where BestCard is offered
BestCard covers credit cards issued in the United States and is designed for people there. If you write to us from another country, your message is handled in the United States.
Children
BestCard is meant for adults who hold credit cards. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and, when the change matters, tell you in the app.
Contact
Questions about privacy can be sent to Stefano Anania through the support form at bestcard-app.netlify.app/support, which is also the support link on BestCard's App Store page.
